Polystichum acrostichoides

Polystichum acrostichoides is a fern native and common throughout the southeast. It is naturally found in moist to dry forests. It grows best in full to part shade, in moist soils. It is an evergreen fern and maintains its foliage throughout the year. It typically has a spread of up to three feet. This plant provides good cover for wildlife in the winter. Polystichum acrostichoides is a great choice as a specimen plant in a yard, or for restoration projects.
