MMF Stormwater Pond Mix

Our nursery’s Stormwater Pond seed mix is designed for creating or restoring the plant life around stormwater ponds. It contains a mix of grasses, sedges, and rushes native to the southeast. It is designed to tolerate a wide range of inundation regimes- from areas that are flooded to temporarily dry. The species in this mix establish quickly in areas where mowing is not anticipated, and they tolerate low-fertility soil. These species range from one to five feet tall. We recommend 20-25 pounds per acre, and we sell it by the pound.
