Lyonia lucida

Lyonia lucida is an evergreen shrub native to the coastal plain of the southeast, where it is predominantly found in wetland habitats. It grows best in moist to wet soils, in deep shade or part sun sites. Clusters of drooping, bell-shaped flowers bloom in the spring and attract pollinators. It can grow up to six feet tall, and provides good cover for wildlife. Lyonia lucida is excellent for restoration projects, as a native screen, or as a specimen plant in yards and rain gardens.
