Carex crinita

Carex crinita is a tall sedge with recumbent grass-like foliage. It forms long spiked seed heads in late spring. Carex crinita is native throughout the southeast (although absent from the Florida Panhandle), and prefers to grow in sunny wetland conditions. Although taller during the growing season (reaching up to three feet), this plant has evergreen foliage throughout the year. Like any of our Carex species, Carex crinita works well in several different applications: wetland mitigation, stream restoration, constructed wetland, or as a rain garden plant
