Athyrium aspleniodies

Lady fern

Athyrium asplenioides is a fern native throughout the southeast. It is naturally found in moist forests, and grows in full shade to part sun (if soils are kept wet). It can grow up to three feet tall in the growing season, and dies back completely in the winter. It is fairly deer resistant. It readily grows to form clumps and stands. Athyrium asplenioides is a good specimen plant.
