Malus angustifolia

Southern crab apple

Malus angustifolia is a small tree native throughout the southeast. It grows well in moist to dry, well drained soils in full sun or part shade. It has pink flowers that bloom in early spring and attract lots of pollinators. The fruits that ripen in the late summer/early fall are enjoyed by humans, songbirds, and small mammals. Malus angustifolia works great as a yard or street tree.
