Cyrilla racemiflora

Titi

Cyrilla racemiflora is a semi-evergreen small tree that is native to the southeast- predominantly in the Coastal Plain, and somewhat in the Piedmont. It is found in wetland habitats, and prefers full sun. Depending on the climate it is planted in, Cyrilla racemiflora may be evergreen or tardily deciduous. It has hanging racemes of white flowers that typically bloom in the summer. The flowers attract pollinators, and the fruits produced later in the year are enjoyed by songbirds and small mammals. This plant can be useful in wetland or stream restoration projects, and also makes a lovely specimen plant for a garden.
