Borrichia frutescens

Sea ox-eye

Borrichia frutescens is a flowering plant native through the southeastern coastal plain. It is predominantly found in salt and brackish marshes. It grows best in full sun sites that have moist to saturated soils. The evergreen leaves of this plant are fleshy, fuzzy on both sides, and pale green. It can grow up to around three feet tall. Bright yellow, daisy-like flowers bloom in the summer and attract pollinators. Songbirds eat the seeds in the fall and winter. Borrichia frutescens is excellent as a specimen plant in a yard, or for restoration projects.
